"Every man is indebted to his homeland"

Ivo Andrić ...

An action is underway to collect monetary donations for poor children in Serbia so that they can buy basic means of subsistence.

HOW IS THE AID DISTRIBUTED

Since 2004, the foundation has been awarding financial aid every year for Christmas to children from families in which both parents are unemployed and without other regular income. The compilation of lists of children who need help and the distribution of donations is done by local volunteers with members of the humanitarian organization Stara Raška from Belgrade, who help us to successfully carry out our humanitarian actions in Serbia.

WE DISTRIBUTE ALL 100%

All those engaged in the Stara Raška Foundation work exclusively on a voluntary basis, unlike the vast majority of other humanitarian organizations. This enables us to send all the collected money to Serbia in full and distribute it to poor families with children who need help the most. Unfortunately, due to the deteriorating economic situation in Serbia, the number of requests for assistance is growing from year to year.

ABOUT THE RAŠKA AREA

The Raska region is the area where the Serbian state idea began and the first Serbian state organization was formed under Prince Vlastimir (9th century). Until the beginning of the 20th century, and to a large extent later in European literature, the Raska region was known as “Raska” or “Old Raska”. In the Serbian capital Rasu (12th century), on the foundations of which Novi Pazar lies today, the great prefect Stefan Nemanja ruled, whose youngest son Rastko became the famous Serbian educator and saint Saint Sava.
